This isn’t AI. It isn’t a photograph. And it isn’t a clever Photoshop filter.
It’s entirely hand drawn in pencil.
Every reflection, shadow, piece of trim, wheel spoke, headlight and iconic BMW Motorsport stripe has been individually recreated by hand - representing hours upon hours of work.
And the subject is equally special.
The BMW 3.0 CSL “Batmobile”.
One of the most recognisable racing BMWs ever created, the 3.0 CSL became a motorsport icon during the 1970s - its dramatic aerodynamic bodywork earning it the now-famous “Batmobile” nickname. In 1975, BMW Motorsport took the CSL to America, emblazoned with “Bavarian Motor Works” across the windscreen and wearing the unmistakable BMW Motorsport colours. It made quite an entrance. BMW scored a historic victory at the 12 Hours of Sebring, followed by further success during its debut American season. BMW says the CSL ultimately helped secure the 1975 IMSA manufacturers’ championship in its first year of competition in the US.
But there’s another reason this piece is special…
This is THE ORIGINAL - not a print.
The progression photographs show the drawing developing from the first pencil outlines through to the painstaking addition of the Motorsport stripes, interior, wheels and final details - all completed by hand.
Abi’s original artwork very rarely becomes available on the open market, with much of her work created to individual commission.
No AI. No filters. No Photoshop. No computers. No shortcuts.
Just pencil, paper, hours of work and some serious talent.
Supplied with a signed Certificate of Authenticity from the artist.
