This isn’t AI. It isn’t a photograph. And it isn’t a clever Photoshop filter.
It’s entirely hand drawn in pencil.
Every reflection, shadow, headlight, wheel, sponsor marking and detail of that unmistakable red-and-white livery has been individually recreated by hand — representing hours upon hours of work.
And the subject is something very special.
The Porsche 917 K.
More specifically, car No. 23 — the car that gave Porsche its first-ever overall victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. On 14 June 1970, Hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood crossed the finish line first in the red-and-white Porsche Salzburg 917 K, having completed 343 laps and 4,607.811 kilometres through notoriously difficult, rain-soaked conditions. The car had started just 15th on the grid, but as its rivals fell away, the No. 23 took the lead during the 11th hour and never relinquished it.
It was a landmark moment. After years of trying, Porsche had finally won Le Mans outright — beginning an extraordinary relationship between Porsche and the world's most famous endurance race.
And Abi has painstakingly recreated that historic machine by hand.
The progression photographs show the drawing developing from the faintest pencil outline, through the addition of the iconic Salzburg livery, cockpit, wheels, headlights and sponsor markings, until the finished 917 emerges.
But there’s another reason this piece is special…
This is THE ORIGINAL — not a print.
Abi’s original artwork very rarely becomes available on the open market, with much of her work created to individual commission.
No AI. No filters. No Photoshop. No computers. No shortcuts.
Just pencil, paper, hours of work and some serious talent.
Supplied with a signed Certificate of Authenticity from the artist.
